First Check yourself into the La Minerva hotel, a family run boutique hotel. This charming spot has 18 beautiful rooms with views. Set away from the crowds, this tranquil spot is a real retreat. All the rooms are really savvy with their decor. After you have settled in and sipped on your delicious welcome Bellini, lounge around this inviting pool and sample the great menu. Try the salad Nicoise and Tagliolini Limone. They will throw your taste buds into a frenzy. Siesta time for a bit and then off to explore magical Capri. When wandering the streets of Capri, many stores are familiar. Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton are always prominent in these heavily tourist destinations. I found the most beautiful and unique boutique, Laboratorio. Michele, owner and designer greeted me and I got a birds eye view of all his lovely designs. To bad he doesn't sell to stores in the US. You can however shop on line. His clothes are very special. With the help of his parents who have been in the tailoring business for years, he produces quite a fine collection. He also carries really nice hand bags, scarves, and shoes. Third and final OC Wino Find was the most delicious restaurant overlooking the water, high up on the hill, tucked back in cobblestone streets. Panorama, rich in atmosphere and the most amazing food. This yummy plate of linguine pasta piled high with the most fresh clams and mussels. It really was one of the best meals on the trip. We actually went back the next day to try their quatro frommage pizza and tomato and burrata salad. Again FANTASTICO! |
